Weber School District's Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers met on August 16th to gear up for the new academic year. The event featured several guest speakers including Bryce Weiler, a blind sports analyst and co-founder of the Beautiful Lives Project. Weiler's message about what we can accomplish when someone gives us an opportunity, believes in us and when we have the determination to overcome obstacles was an unbelievable manifestation of the human spirit.
Bryce also spoke to Weber School District's Special Education Department and shared his experiences with them about advocating for those with disabilities and how we can help open the world back up to them.
Educators also had the pleasure of hearing from the Wizard of Paws, Derrick Campana, and his experiences with how his career making prosthetics for animals helps offer hope and healing for them and their human families.
It was fantastic to see our teachers together and hear from a diverse and passionate group of professionals about their industry and products. Congratulations to our Health Sciences teacher, Ranae Davis on winning the scooter from Bakcou at our CTE Welcome Back event!
